EMDR

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a researched backed intervention which was initially developed for those with trauma. First introduced following the Oklahoma City bombing, it has been used and researched by clinicians for more than 30 years.

Today it is used all over the world, to help relieve symptoms related to PTSD (man made or natural disasters), other Stress Disorders, and a wide variety of symptoms and problems. Any time a memory, image, or emotion are causing someone distress, EMDR can be a highly effective (and very fast) treatment option. Studies have even shown that EMDR can be more effective than Prozac or similar drugs.

In addition to trauma, EMDR is being used today to help people with:

  • Phobias
  • Panic Disorder
  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder
  • Depression
  • Attachment Disorder
  • Conduct Problems and Self Esteem
  • Grief and Mourning
  • Body Dismorphic Disorder
  • Chronic Pain
  • Migraine Headaches
